WHAT I DO
My approach
With 15+ years of experience, a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Health Sciences, Remedial Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy, Lea's dedication and passion for her work combine styles' fusion, a wealth of expertise and much care. Her work blends practices such as Shiatshu, Advanced holistic massage, Myofascial Release (MFR), and Neuromuscular therapy. Each approach aims to provide pain relief, healing, relaxation and an opportunity to reconnect with oneself.
Therapeutic touch has numerous benefits. It can offer new insights and inspiration to those open to its possibilities. Lea's touch focuses on supporting and encouraging the individual's Ka to flow (energy principle), which promotes balance and well-being. The profound connection between the physical and emotional/felt body is intrinsic. The world around us, our environment, influences our adaptation and responses to the present. Our adaptations and responses to the present can manifest in our bodies as tensions and imbalances. Through my work, I aim to address these patterns of tension and automated armouring that can manifest as musculoskeletal pain and psycho-emotional imbalances.
Whether you're seeking relief from physical discomfort or simply looking to enhance your overall wellness, Lea's here to support you with skills on your journey towards well-being.

SOMATIC BENEFITS
How Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork can change your life
Somatic stems from the Greek word soma, meaning body in its wholeness. My approach to Bodywork and massage integrates the principle of interconnection of the body and mind. Physical trauma can cause emotional stress, and emotional stress can lead to physical ailments (pain, discomfort, injury). My work aims to create a window of opportunity where the central nervous system and tissues can feel and respond better. Then, begins a journey that only YOU can sustain through mindfulness and counscious change of habitual patterns no longer serving you.

PHYSIOLOGICAL BENEFITS:
- Reduce Chronic Pain, Improves Movement and Posture through the release of the fascia (connective tissue surrounding the organs, muscles and bones), and muscular tension.
- Nervous system regulation: Activate the parasymphatetic system that induces relaxation by lowering heart rate, blood pressure and decreasing stress-hormones (cortisol) while increasing feel-good neurotransmitters like serotonin or dopamine.
- Support for Immune Function: Increase blood and immune cells (white blood cells, lymphocytes) circulation, stimulate lymph flow for the removal of toxins, and promote better sleep. All of which are beneficial to promote overall well-being.

PSYCHOLOGICAL BENEFITS
- Hormonal Balance: Reduce levels of cortisol (stress hormone) and promote mood, sleep and cognitive-regulating neurotransmitters (serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin).
- Cerebral Activity: Changes brainwave patterns, influences part of the limbic system (amygdala) involved in stress management.
Aromatherapy massage uses essential oils to promote relaxation and well-being. It is beneficial in managing nausea, anxiety, insomnia, stress, depression, dementia and oncology. The essential oils are diluted with a carrier oil and then applied to the skin. Using techniques like Swedish massage or manual lymphatic massage promotes topical absorption.
Butterfly Touch
A gentle and delightful technique which is applied as a soft and delicate touch. It supports deep relaxation within the whole body, relieves symptoms of stress, and improves overall health and wellness.
Deep tissue massage is effective in enhancing blood circulation and reducing inflammation. By increasing blood flow, this massage technique facilitates the delivery of oxygen and essential nutrients to muscle tissues, accelerating the healing process. Additionally, it aids in the removal of metabolic waste products, further promoting recovery. Research has shown that these physiological effects can lead to improved mobility and a significant reduction in pain levels, making deep tissue massage a valuable tool in pain management and rehabilitation.
Myofascial release is a manual therapy that applies sustained pressure to the fascia (connective tissue providing structure and support to the body) to relieve pain and stiffness stored in the muscles and joints by improving range of motion and restoring function.
Neuromuscular Therapy is a range of specialised manual methods supporting chronic pain management, injury recovery, and various musculoskeletal conditions by improving circulation and reducing fascial restrictions.
Pregnancy Massage therapy has been scientifically demonstrated to be effective in decreasing depression, anxiety, and leg and back pain. Cortisol levels decreased, and, in turn, excessive fetal activity does too.
Shiatsu is a Japanese therapy involving finger, thumb, elbow, knuckles, feet and palm pressure on specific points and at varied rhythms on the body. Its therapeutic benefits through the pressure points and stretches are important for the flow of the body's vital energy, called Ka/Chi and overall greatness.
Sports massage therapy helps with the muscle systems used for a particular sport. It uses a variety of approaches to help athletes in training. Pre-event, during, post-event, maintenance, and rehabilitation promote flexibility, help prevent injuries, relieve muscle strains and speed up healing after a sports injury.
While regular treatment would provide optimal benefits, monthly session can offer significant physical and psychological improvements.

Testimonials
“Léa is just wonderful and lovely. Not only is she fully qualified with a Bachelor of Science in what she does, Léa also promotes holistic wellbeing and provides advice to her clients on what might suit them best. I have a myriad of serious conditions, including a deficient and suppressed immune system and arthritis. Léa has, on more than one occasion, taken my pain away and helped me feel whole again. I really don’t know what I would do without her care!”
Sian, since Oct 2019
I have known Léa for many years, and when I experienced her massage for the first time, I knew she was the right person for me. Léa's professional; she knows the anatomy of the body and tunes into where the imbalances are. She treats massage as a holistic experience, which I feel is important. She can create firm pressure when necessary, all of which makes for a deeply transformative experience! I would highly recommend Léa.
